TM Rudramurthy, general secretary of Bengaluru’s Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Union, said: Namma Yatri will be an alternative to other aggregator apps that were in the midst of controversy to avoid customers. Uber India said the development was considering the Karnataka High Court’s decision to limit auto services in parts of Bengaluru, as the commission’s ruling was 10%.

Earlier, the transport department had pulled up aggregators for offering auto rickshaw rides without a license and issued a notice that autorickshaws would be charged a minimum of Rs 30 for the first two kilometers and Rs 15 for each subsequent kilometer. Unlike other apps, customers have the option to choose from several drivers. Rudramurthy said that customers will see a list of drivers who are willing to travel and will have the freedom to choose from among drivers based on the lowest price quote, arrival time, and rating on the app.
