1. General Information about the department

(Summary about the milestones of the Department, academic facilities, research facilities, staff, various courses and services provided by the department)

Department of Pharmacology was started in 1956 . 

The teaching faculty includes 5 professors, 4 Assistant Professors and 6 tutors. The department is involved in teaching various courses –

Medical-MBBS, MD (9 post graduates annually)

Dental-BDS,

Nursing –BSc, Post –basic BSc

Allied Health Sciences: BSc Operation theatre technology, BSc Respiratory care technology, Ophthalmic technology, Perfusion technology, BSc Dialysis technology, BSc Cardiac care technology, BSc Anaesthesia Technology, Diploma in OT technology, Dialysis technology, Dental Hygiene, Dental Mechanic etc.

Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre, under the Pharmacovigilance programme of India was established in 2011. Department of Pharmacology also renders Drug information services to the health care professionals.
