1. General Information about the department

(Summary about the milestones of the Department ,academic facilities, research facilities, staff, various courses and services provided by the department)

The Department of pathology present within the Victoria Hospital Campus is well established with facilities for Histopathology, Cytology , Hematology and clinical pathology. The Staff in this department are involved both in diagnostic work and teaching activities. Post Graduates, MBBS, BDS, Allied Sciences, Nursing and Paramedical courses students attend classes in this department. The department actively conducts periodic CMEs, Conferences and clinico pathological meets with various departments. The departments also conduct Under Graduate and Post Graduate quiz in pathology. The central laboratory within the Victoria Hospital campus is ISO certified and is in the process of getting NABL accreditation. The pathology department is having well experienced teachers who deliver scientific guest lectures. Our department caters diagnostic services to super speciality hospital, Vanivilas hospital, Venkateshwara ENT hospital, Nephrourology and Minto hospital. The Post Graduates and teaching staff actively participate in some of the national urban and rural health programmes in collaboration with OBG and community medicine department. The department also receives post graduate students from Government Institutions like Kidwai for general pathology training.
