1. General Information about the department

The Department of Community Medicine aims to impart quality education in Community Medicine to the under graduate medical students enrolled for MBBS (Basic medical degree) and post graduate medical students enrolled for MD (Community Medicine), the department enables a academic atmosphere where students strive for excellence to achieve and aspire for health of the larger community.The many ongoing activities and  projects provides the academic learning platform and links to Public Health.

Postgraduate course in Community Medicine was started in the year 1965. This is a comprehensive, full time, 3 year training course leading on to the award of MD degree in Community Medicine. Since 2014, 07 MD seats per year are permitted by Medical Council of India.
