General Information about the department

Diseases of the heart have become an increasing health problem in all parts of the world. Heart diseases can cause major impacts on physiological and psychological aspects of the patients and the community. Prevention, early diagnosis and prompt treatment are considered as the main focus when dealing with such major problem

The department of cardiology in BMC&RI SSH (PMSSY) is an independent unit, serving patients with various forms of heart diseases. Our services include both diagnostic & therapeutic options for cardiac patients, aiming at achieving rapid and accurate diagnosis and proper and early treatment for better clinical outcomes.

Department of cardiology started functioning from June 2012 at BMC&RI SSH (PMSSY) Block.

The BMC & RI SSH (PMSSY) is an integrated healthcare centre with a dedicated team of Cardiac surgeons and cardiologists working together to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to patients suffering from heart diseases. Our team of doctors, nurses, technicians and other heart experts
• In India, every MINUTE 4 people die of a heart attack
• 17.3 million or 30% of total global deaths occur because of cardiovascular diseases
• Every minute, diabetes kills 2 Indians, while stroke and cancer kill 1 each
• Five out of 100 Indians bear a gene mutation that in all probability guarantees the development of a heart disease at some time of life
